South Africa: Cornubia Integrated Human Settlements Development Project - the Pride and Joy of 482 Home Owners
Four hundred and eighty two beneficiaries are now proud home owners, thanks to the new R25-billion Cornubia Integrated Human Settlements Development Project, situated in Ottawa, north of Durban. The Cornubia Project launched by President Jacob Zuma on Sunday, forms part of government's initiative to integrate society, by delivering decent housing and improving the lives of all South Africans. South Africa indeed has a good story to tell, says President Zuma. “Today’s launch of the Cornubia housing project coincides with South Africa celebrating 20 Years of Freedom, this Freedom Month.”

South Africa: Centre to Improve Services for Former Mineworkers
Historically, there has been a fragmented approach to the provision of social services for current and former mineworkers, says Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe. “Of particular concern for a very long time has been the issue of the inhumane conditions under which mine workers live and work, the challenges emanating from the migrant labour system and the treatment meted out to ex -mineworkers once they are too ill to work or are retired due to other social and health related complications. “These are issues we have been grappling with since the dawn of our democracy and we continue to do so today,” said the Deputy President on Monday.
