E-government services are now available in more than 90 percent of China's cities and 80 percent of its towns, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Governance Hong Yi said Thursday.
All central government departments and provincial-level governments have established websites and 99.1 percent of municipal governments have done the same, Hong said at a two-day forum on Chinese e-government services.
Over 90 percent of core central government services, such as those relating to customs, taxation, public security and social security, are now offered online, Hong said.
Chinese e-government services have seen progress in terms of networking, infrastructure, digitalization, sharing and security over the last decade, Hong said.
The forum was attended by over 300 participants, including representatives from central and local governments, institutes and enterprises.
