The French government has selected nine cities for its French Tech initiative to strengthen start-up ecosystems and to encourage them to establish a network around the main tech clusters of Paris and the Ile de France region. The majority of Germans are unaware of emerging digital service technologies, according to a survey conducted by EMNIDbusse. Technologies such as Bitcoin (66%), Bluetooth Low Energy (70%) or NFC (near field communication) (86%) are widely unknown. M-payment is more common but is only used by 3 percent of the interviewees. Romania Romania Sees 1.5 mln Ported Numbers in 6 Years
Romania's telecommunications authority Ancom announced a total of 1.565 million numbers were ported between 2008, when porting was introduced, and the beginning of October. Of these, 1.123 million were mobile telephony numbers and 442,472 were fixed telephony numbers. Throughout the six years since the launch of number portability in Romania, the amount of telephone numbers transferred from their users from one network to another has constantly been on the rise.

Russian Federation Russian Data Centre to Grow in Size by 37% This Year
The size of Russian commercial data centres is expected to grow by 36.5 percent by the end of the year, reports Cnews.ru, citing a study from iKS-Consulting. The data centre market will reach RUB 11.9 billion, up from 9.3 billion in 2013. The total size of Russian data centres will go to 86,000 square metres by the end of the year, with the number of racks growing by 28 percent to 25,500 units. Russia currently holds 0.2 percent of the global data centre market.
