Peru Peru Watchdog Calls for Transparency on 'Unlimited' Data Plans
Peruvian telecom regulator Osiptel has called on operators to clearly set out the conditions of newly-launched all-you-can-eat plans with a view to avoiding subsequent customers claims. In a statement Osiptel said it welcomed the new “unlimited” data plans offered by Entel, Movistar and Claro as evidence of the dynamic and competitive nature of the mobile sector but urged companies to ensure full transparency.
Brazil Brazil Telecom Complaints Fall 12% in Past 12 Months
There were 264,200 complaints from users of fixed broadband, mobile telephony, fixed telephony and pay-TV services against Brazilian providers to the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) in September. LTE is now available in 3,039 Brazilian cities, where more than 87 percent of the country's population lives. In twelve months, 4G coverage has grown five-fold.
