The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Government of Germany agreed on January 26, in Berlin through a convention signed by both parties that the new joint cooperation programme for the period 2016-2018 will be dedicated to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the region.

Latin American and Caribbean Growth Projection for 2015 and 2016

Latin American and Caribbean economies will contract -0.4% on average in 2015 and will grow just 0.2% next year, affected by a complex external scenario, according to new projections unveiled today by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

The Latin American Economic Outlook 2016 Launched
Latin America’s GDP growth slowdown deepened and is expected to be negative in 2015. For a second consecutive year, Latin America falls behind the average growth of OECD countries after a full decade of convergence with advanced economies, according to the Latin American Economic Outlook 2016.

Recapping this Year through the Lens of ECLAC
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) published in 2015 diverse studies regarding the economic, social and environmental situation in the region, including six flagship annual reports that provided statistical information, timely analysis and short- and medium-term outlooks on issues as varied as the expansion of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the behavior of foreign investment and international trade, and the evolution of poverty and inequality.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry staff to work in malls as part of new experiment
Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ali bin Mas’oud Al Sunaidi announced that the ministry would do an important experiment on the occasion of blessed Renaissance Day, July 23. A number of ministry’s employees will start working on July 25 in a number of Shopping Malls in Muscat, Al Buraimi, Salalah, Musandam, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur and A’Rustaq.

Global e-commerce conference opens on Tuesday
SALALAH: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in the Governorate of Dhofar, in collaboration with Middle East Centre for Social Consultancies and Studies, will organise on July 26, at Crowne Plaza Hotel Salalah, the 4th international e-commerce conference under the theme “e-payment”. The opening ceremony of the two-day conference will be held under the auspices of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.

Croatia Internet Advertising Grows 43.6% in 2015
Croatian advertisers increased investments in 2015 by 3.1 percent, to HRK 1.45 billion, according to the Croatian Association of Communications Agencies (Hura).
